Meetings
Of The Board

|
|
|
|
|
Under
the Conduct of Meetings Regulations 1960, the Board shall
meet atleast once a month, the date, time and venue of the
meeting being fixed by Secretary with the approval of Chairman.
5 clear days notice of every meeting shall be given to all
Members and agenda circulated. Copy of the agenda is endorsed
to the Secretary (Energy) as well as Minister (Energy).

(I) |
General
duties of the Board (Section 18 of Electricity (Supply) Act,1948. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
(a) |
To
arrange for the supply of electricity within the State and for
the transmission and distribution of the same in most efficient
and economical manner. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
(b) |
To
supply electricity to licensees. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
(c) |
To
exercise control in relation to generation, distribution and
utilisation of electricity within the State. |
| |
|
|
|
|
(d) |
To collect
data on demand and use of electricity and formulate perspective
plan. |
| |
|
|
|
|
(e) |
To prepare
and carry out scheme for transmission and distribution and for
promoting use of electricity within the State. |

|
|
|
|
(f) |
To operate
the generating stations under its control. |
| |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
(II) |
Under
Section 79 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 the Board is
empowered to make regulations on the following matters viz.

|
1) |
Administration
of Funds and Properties of the Board. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
2) |
Summoning
and holding of meetings of the Board. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
3) |
Duties
of officers and employees of the Board and their salaries and
conditions of service. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
4) |
Procedure
to be followed by the Board In inviting, considering and accepting
tenders. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
5) |
Principles
governing the fixing of Grid tariffs. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
6) |
Principles
governing supply of electricity to persons other than licensees. |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
7) |
Any other
matter arising out of the Board's functions under this Act for
which it is necessary or expedient to make regulations.
