Sub  : Use of wooden poles for terminating the senrice lines.
 

Our conditions of supply provide that when the overhead service line cannot be terminated on the structure of the consumer and if a terminal pole forthe same is required to be installed within 7.5 Meters from the Consumer's premises, the consumer haste pay Rs. 100/- as the erected cost of such pole, which amount includes the cost of pole, erection and supervision charges.

However in order to encourage taking of supply by low income prospective consumers in rural areas and with a view to provide electric supply to such consumers, It has been decided that in the above contingency, and at the consumers option, we may accept from the consumers well grown ballies or wooden poles about 5" diameter at the bottom and about 3" at the top, treated with two coats of hot tar for erection as terminal poles for giving connections to domestic light and fan consumers only. The maintenance and subsequeent replaceemeent of the bally or the pole shall be the responsibilty of the Board.
