Sub  : 
Electricity Duty - Levy of concessional rate for Industries fulfilling conditions laid down in subclauses 1 (a) (ii) & (y) of the schedule to Section 3 of Bombay Electricity Duty Act.

      With the coming into effect of the new revised rates form 1-4-62 in Vidarbha and Marathwada areas and from 1-7-62 in those areas in Western Maharashtra where supply from Koyna and commenced in June 1962, certain clarifications regarding their application under for the information of all concerned.

1)

All the old rates are to be discontinued except where, by contractual agreements any old rates have to be continued.

2)

Supply at High Tension is not to be given normally form the Diesel Power Stations except in case of the Aurangabad Cantonment and Chikhalthan aerodrome where the same may be continued at the special rates until further order and other cases where supply at high tension has been approved.

3)

In case of existing L.T. consumers setved from major schemes with a demand of more than 50 kW, the rates LTPIG or LTPIAG, as the case may be, should be applied, even though the latter are igned for loads of less than 50 kW. This may be done until the question is further examined. Wherever feasible such consumers may be advised to take supply at High Tension and the same may be provided. Divisional Engineers are requested to furnish list of such L.T. consumers with demands of more than 50 kW indicating the total connected load, maximum demand and the type of load in each case. It may also be indicated where  H.T. supply is feasible.

In all cases of H.T. consumers (including those with demand of   200 kW and less) tariff HTP-1 has to be applied unless the   consumer intimates his option for the block tariff HTP-2 in writing. Such consumers may be approached and requested to indicate their option.

5)

With the introduction of the revised tariff no fuel or any other surcharge is payable by the H.T. consumers in addition to the rates prescribed in the tariff booklet, in cases where Hydro- tariffs applicable.
