No:PG-50/11 780
Maharashtra State Electricity Board

Mercantile Bank Building.

Fort, Bombay-l .

Dated 11March 1963.

Departmental Circular No. 22
(Commercial)

Sub : Service connection charges from the Licensees.

It is observed that while giving H.T. supply to the licensees references are being made to the Head Office by some of the field officers for clarification on the point, whether service connection charges are to be recovered from the licensees concerned.

It is therefore specifically brought to the notice of all the Executive Engineers in the field that no service connection charges are to be collected from the licensees for giving them the grid supply. In this connection it may be noted that the supply is given to the licensees in terms of the provisions of the Electricity(Supply) Act 1948 under Section 35 or 36 and the second or the third schedule as the case may be, wherein it is laid down that the Board shall bear the whole of the cost of the service apparatus required for making the supply available to the licensee.
