CIRCULAR

In Government Resolution,
Food, Agriculture and Forests Department No.PMS-1062/23041-F,
dated the ilth January, 1963, Government has issued
orders laying down revised procedure in respect of
the scheme for grant of loans and subsidy for oil
engines, electric motors, pumping sets required for
agricultural purposes. It has, however, been noticed
that the cultivators
do not come forward to take electricity for working
their electrical pumping sets. To overcome this difficulty
various steps on the part of Electricity Board and
the Government have been considered, but it is felt
that the problem has to be tackled on an individual
basis. Government is, therefore, pleased to direct,
in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section
(1) of section 261 of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads
and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961 that the Zilla Parishads
and Panchayat Samitis should take steps to propagate
the use of electricity and induce cultivators In villages
which have been electrified or which would soon be
electrified according to scheduled programme to instal
electrical pumping sets,.
