While
going through the H.T bills of different Divisions,
it is observed that the Maximum Demand established
by some of the H.T. Consumers has exceeded their contract
demand. In such cases immediate action should be taken
by the field officers to ascertain whether the maximum
demand has exceeded the sanctioned load (after taking
into consideration, wherever necessary, the power
factor of operation). If it is so, immediate action
should be taken to serve a notice on each individual
consumer drawing his attention to the contravention
of Section (3) of Bombay. Electricity (Special Powers)
Act 1946 for which supply to him is liable to be disconnected
under Section 4(l) of that Act, He should be asked
to restrict his load to the sanctioned limit, till
a fresh enganced santion is received. A consumers
is liable to be disconnected for breach of this condition.
If
the maximum demand established by a H.T. consumer
has exceeded the Contact Demand, but not the sanctioned
load, immediate action should be taken by the field
officers to increase his contract demand suitably
in consultation with consumer provided adequate capacity
is available in our system for supply of that much
load. The enganced contract demand shall be effective
from the first of the month in which the maximum demand
had exceeded the contract demand.
In
view of the provisions made under section 4(3) Bombay
Electricity (Special Powers)Act 1946 the field officers
should immediately report any contraventions to this
office, so as to enable this office to take up the
matter suitably with Governement in the Industries
and Labour Department for further necessary action
in the matter. ....................................................
