In respect of the change of name/ownership of installations arising on account of sale, vacation of promises and occupation of the same by another person or on the death of the consumer etc. the Superintending Engineers of the respective Circles, have been empowered at present to decide such cases (in respect of L.T. consumers) vide circular No. 46 issued under No.PR - 3/9822 Dated: 01.03.1961. In ordeer ot simplify the procedure in deciding such cases and to ensure quick disposal, the Baord vide Resolution No. 2420 dated: 17th March 1964 has now empowered the following field officers to sanction change of name/ownership of installation for each category of the load as stated below:

L.T. Consumer (Viz Lights, Fans  domestic heat and power and MotivePower upto 5 BHP		The Engineer in charge of the Unit in the field not below the rank of a Sub Engineer.
L.T. consumers foar Motive Power  above 5 BHP & Cinema Etc.		The Executive Engineer in-charge
H.T. Consumers		Superintending Engineer of the Circle

In order to safequard the interest orf the Board and to ensure our legal position in the event of any litigations, the procedure as laid down in the Departmental Circular No. 36 issued under No. PG:132/7760 DATED 25.07.1963., should be strictly followed.
