References have been made to this office by our field officers, asking clarification whether the demand for annual payment of inspection fees is in order, in terms of the Indian Electricity Rules 1956 by the Electrical Inspector for inspection of our distribution centres under Scale B of the schedule of fees prescribed by Government. The matter was referred to the Electrical Engineer to Government who has clarified the position as per his letter dated 17-12-64 (copy attached for ready reference).

All field officers are therefore requested to pay the fees as demanded by the Electrical Inspector to Government under scale B of the schedule referred to above.
