A reference is invited to Accounts Department circular No.AD/INS/FIRE/40700 dt. 18.7.1964 according to which it was intimated that as per Board's Resolution No. 2646 dt. 24.6.1964, the insurance against fire risk and explosion is discontinued with effect from 1.7.1964.

~Iowever the Standing Committee vide its decision No. 2136 dt. 18.2.1965 has now recommended that the said Board decision may not apply in so far as the Board's equipments given on hire are concerned, as in its opinion it is desirable to insure such equipments given on hire and recover the premium from the consumer.

The MBR No. 2646 dt. 24.6.1964 is being got amended accordingly by the Accounts Department. Pending approval by the Board, the existing procedure of insuring of equipment on hire by ourselves may be continued
