In accordance with Section 44 of the
Electricity Supply Act, 1948 every person desirous
of establishing a generating station is required to
obtain the consent of the Board for the same. However,
as it may not be strictly correct to treat the use
of small portable generating sets as amounting to
establishment of a generating station, all the Executive
Engineers in charge of the Divisions are hereby informed
that they should allow the use and grant permission
for this installation upto 5 H.P. each of portable
generating sets used by "Touring Talkies" or"'Circus
Companies" for short durations of not more than about
one month, whenever any applications for the same
are received by them.
