Sub  : 

Provision of lights for the purpose of Compound Lighting on poles laid by the Board for giving supply to H.T. & L.T. consumers.

The Board has received applications from H.T. and L.T. consumers for provision of lights on poles laid by the Board in their compounds for giving supply to them. This may be for purposes such as for increasing agricultural production by enabling him to work during or to safe-guard produce against theft or stray cattle, in the case of agricultural consumers both L.T. & H.T. or for Lighting the paths leading to the various building in-side the compound of an H.T. consumer. The Standing Committee vide its decision No. 2619
dated 2 & 9th March 1966 has approved the provision of lights or poles already laid for giving service connection inside the compound of L.T. consumer if required by him on the following terms:

  1. The work of installaion would be carried out by the Board as "Deposit Work" at the cost of the consumer after the consumer pays in advance the entire cost of the work which would be intimated to him.

  2. A nominal rent of Re.l/- per pole per annum would be charged in advance for each pole used for running the wires and providing lamps.

  3. The consumption would be metered alongwith his other lighting consumption and charged at the tariff applicable for domestic lighting.

  4. New bulbs for replacing the fused bulbs would be supplied by the consumer, the handing cahrges on each bulb would be 25 paise. In the case of H.T. consumers the standing committee vide its decision No. 2731 dated 8.6.1966 has approved the provision of lights forthe purpose of compound lighting on poles laid for giving supply to a H.T. consumer if so requered by him on the same terms as in the case of L.T. consumers, except that the energy consumed in such lighting should be charged at the rate applicable for Factory lighting.

All the Field Officers are requested to take note of the above dicisions and arrange to provide such facilities when required by the consumer to do so.

The concerned Executive Engineers should work out the cost of providing the facility as above and only on the consumers paying in advance the amount so intimated, should the works be taken up.
