Sub  : 
Provision of Traffic/Signals and lights in public gardens,  parks, etc. Charges for energy consumed in.

For Provision of traffic signals in any towns or Cities, the Board vide Resolution No. 2628 dt.24-61964 has apporved certain terms as stated below:

1)

The work of installation and wiring of traffic signals would be carried out by the Board as "Deposit Work" on the consumer depositing the entire estimated expenditure for the works which should be intimated to the consumer by the concerned Executive Engineer. The consumer is liable to pay charges to the Board for Supervising the works.

2)

The normal maintenance works be carried out by the Boar
d at its cost. But any replacement or renewal of the lamps, fixtures or underground cables, etc. should be done at the cost of the consumer.

3)

The energy consumed for this purpose shall be charged at the same rate as applicable to street light consumption and shall be measured by a separate meter.

The field officers are therefore requested to take action accordingly.

Provision of lights in public gardens, parks, etc. meant for public is also to be treated on the same footing as the traff ic signals and the energy consumption therein charged at the Street Lighting Tariff.
