No. PR-3/003561
Maharashtra State Electricity Board,
Mercantile Bank Building,

Fort,Bombay-1.

Date: 19 Jan. 1979.

Departmental Circular (Com) No. 322.

Sub  :
Tariff for consumption of inbuilt light finings of the industrial machines.

The chairman, Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Pune has represented that in case of many industrial units who are the members of their chamber, the consumption of light fittings attached to the machine tools is not treated under the same industrial tariff for the purpose of billing but same is billed at the separate tariff meant for lighting.

As far as H.T industrial consumers are concerned, the question of billing such consumption separately will not arise as in tariff it has been clearly stated that the Factory lighting consumption is to be billed under same HTP-1 or HTP-2 tariff as the case may be. The issue raised by the chamber is mainly related with the L.T small scale industrial consumers as our tariff LTP-G is silent in respect of billing of factory lighting or even as regard the built - in lamps on machines.

Therefore, the issue was placed before the Board in its meeting held on 28.12.1978 and the Board Vide B.R.No. 1399 dated 28-12- 1978 has approved as follows:-

In case of L.T motive power consumers the consumption of light fittings attached to the Machines should be billed under the same tariff as applicable for industrial purposes i.e. LTP-G, as done in case of factory lighting under HTP-1/ HTP-2 tariff applicable to HT consumers.

It may please be noted that the above decision is applicable only in respect of consumption of in built light fittings of the Machines. The consumption of other lighting in the factory premises, is to be billed separately under commercial L & F tariff as hitherto.
