No. PR-3/014619
Maharashtra State Electricity Board,
Mercantile Bank Building,

Fort, Bombay.

Date: 20th March, 1979

 Departmental Circular (Com) No.325

Sub  :
Concessional tariff to "Rural Water Supply Schemes".

The Board vide B.R.No. 1605 dated 12-3-1979 has approved and directed that for "Rural Water Schemes" i.e. schemes supplying drinking water to rural areas only, the existing agricultural tariff rates should be made applicable i.e. for

L.T metered supply  - tariff LTP-Ag.
for H.T. metered supply - tariff HTP-2 (Ag).
for Horse Power Tariff  - LTP-Ag (H-P) for LT &
HTP-2 (AG-HP) for H.T.

The Board has further directed that all the individual Water Supply Schemes should be allowed to exercise the option to have billing based on either "metered supply" or "Horse Power of the pump", in the same manner as in case of Agricultural consumers (vide Dept. Circular (Com) No.311).

The Board further decided that these tariff rates for Water Supply Schemes will be in supersession of present tariff rates and will take effect from 1-4-1979 i.e. the consumption for Billing month of April'79 onwards is to be billed as revised tariff rates.

All billing offices are requested to communicate the revised tariff rates to individual "Rural Water Supply Schemes" requesting them to exercise the option on or before 31 -5-1979 and also furnish an undertaking to the effect that the option exercised will be binding on them for a period of 3 years.

A draft letter of communication and a letter of option to be given by the consumers are enclosed here with for ready ref.

No existing energy meters should be removed from any installation at this stage. This may be removed only in respect of those who eventually opt for H.P. tariff. Till such time billing should be continued on the basis of metered supply.
