The Board vide Resolution No. 1549 dt. 2-3-1979 has dicided to lease out the sole right of affixing kiosks for display of advertisements on the L.T. Poles belonging to the Board by awarding contract for the same after inviting tender. The Board also approved that:

i)	The contract should be subject to fixed annual leasement per pole kiosk.
ii)	The contract should be on year to year basis.
iii)	The compensation or the lease rent should be payable in advance for the whole year.
iv)	We should undertake this contract in selected urban areas to begin with and then we may extend to Rural areas.
v)	The Zonal Chief Engineers should tenderise, process and operate the contract for various metropolitan, Municipal and Gram panchayat areas within their respective Zones.
vi)	For corpn. areas separate tender should be invited in each Zone.
vii)	The proposed scheme should exclude affixing of kiosk on the H.T. and HT/LT poles.

          As directed by the Board the draft/tender notice, tender form, general conditions of the tender and the contract are appended herewith for your guidance. Certain information in these documents is left out which is to be filled in by you suitably for your Zone.

          The Board further authorised Chairman to decide (i) any changes in the conditions of tender and contract from time to time in the interest of the Board (ii) the places where such contracts should be introduced from time to time.

          The Zonal Chief Engineers are therefore requested to initiate such contracts in suitable areas where there could be fairly good response for these contracts. A copy of the said B.R. is enclosed herewith.

          The approval from the Chief Engineer (Electrical) for the arrangement of the fixation of kiosks on the L.T. poles is awaited and the same will be conveyed to you in due course.
