Departmental Circular (Com) No. 357

Sub  : Connected load for Rural Drinking Water Supply
Schemes opting for Horse Power Tariff.

The Board vide this office circular No. PR-3 (HP)/47305 dated 6.10.79 & Deptt. Circular (Com-) No. 354 under No. PR- 3(HP)/34359 dated 18.8.90, had decided that agricultural consumers as well as Rural Drinking Water Supply Schemes to whom H.P. tariff is applicable should not be allowed to use standby motors and if they do use the same should be included in the total connected load for the purpose of billing on the basis of H.P. tariff. Instructions in this regard have already been issued vide reference quoted.

In partial modification to the above the Board has now decided vide B.R.No. 805 of 29.10.80 that if a Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme owned and operated by a local body or Govt. has a stand-by motor and connects the same with another motor with double through change over switch approved by Board, then relief should be given to the consumer by excluding the standby motor from H.P. tariff billing.

This decision should be given effect from 1.11.80.
