|
Sub
: Connections
to Grampanchayats for Street
lighting service.
|
|
It
has been bought to the notice of the Board that large
number of Grampanchayats having street lighting service
are in arrears partly because their financial position
is week and partly because our Minimum charges and
interest rates are causing a heavy burden. They have
been persistantly asking some concessions so that
they are able to maintain street lighting service
in the villages, which is also desirable in order
that villages get the benefits of our programme.
This
issue, therefore, has been examined by the Board and
vide B.R.No. 804 dated 29/10/80, Board has taken the
following decision in order to enable all Grampanchayats
who are either disconnected or are in arrears continue
to avail the street light supply.
| i) |
Waive
the minimum charges levied as per existing tariff
for the past period. |
| ii) |
Reduce
the interest rate liability from 18%/24% to 12%
per annum retrospectively.
|
| iii) |
Re-schedule
balance amount payable in suitable instalments.
In case of G.P. whose supply is disconnected the
supply shall be reconnected on payment of first
instalment.
|
| iv) |
The
above decision will apply in each case from the
date when the concerned G.P. may have fallen into
arrears. However, the amounts already paid will
not be refunded.
|
| v) |
The
decisions at Sr. No. (i) & (ii) will also
apply for street light consumption by G.Ps. in
future.
|
All
the field officers are requested to take note of the
above. They are also requested to inform individual
G.P.s about Board's above decision requesting them
to come forward to avail the said facility and thereby
to avail the street light supply.
