No. P-Con-1 1259
Date : 6 March, 1984

Departmental Circular No. 382

Sub  : Power supply to the industries expeditious sanction and release thereafter

You may be aware of the various steps being taken by Govt. of Maharashtra to attract and promote industrial growth in the state. With this in view Govt. of Maharashtra have made available, a number
of facilities like land, shed, water, drainage etc. and have also given certain concessions in the application of electricity duty, octroi etc. Active steps are being taken by Govt. of Maharashtra to attract industrialists also from other state to open and establish their new ventures in this state. Recently a meeting was convened by the Chief Minister in Nagpur in connection with the problems faced by the industrialists in the State. There were a number of complaints in the above meeting from the industrialists above the delay in sanctioning and release thereafter of the power required by them for running their industries. The Hon. Chief Minister expressed deep concern over the above position. Therefore, Chairman desires that all necessary steps be taken to ensure that there is no delay at any stage in meeting the power requirements of the industrialists in the State. With the above aim the following intructions are being issued.

In case of power supply to the industrialists at L.T. the circle in charge should coordinate and ensure the release of power supply to the industries with minimum delay and as far as possible commence supply as per the dates intimated bythe consumer. Incase of the industrial consumers in areas where the supply facility exists and the supply could be given, there should not be any difficulty in meeting the power requirements of the consumers quickly. However in areas where the existing facilities are insufficient or do not exist, Executive Engineer concerned as also the circle head should take specific note of this and should prepare, from time to time, a suitable scheme for augmentation or creation of the facilities with estimates and get same duly approved from the competent authority concerned with least possible delay to avoid inconvenience to the new industrial consumers. The circle incharge also should ensure to monitor the position of the applications received in his meeting with the division/sub-division officers. In such meeting tie should consider all cases of pending applicationsfor H.T. supplywhile in the case of L.T. consumers the circle in charge should consider an area as a whole since it is appreciated that the number of such consumers could be large and the circle in charge cannot be expected to look into each such case.
