.........Whenever,
the energy meters are found damaged or out of order
or burnt the consumers are asked to pay the full charges
of the meter for its replacement in advance and till
then the meters are not replaced, nor they are repaired
or investigated as to whether the meters are beyond
repairs of otherwise. This leads to considerable inconvenience
to consumers.
............The
Board has now decided in respect of L.T. domestic
(L&F) consumers to waive this practice of charging
meter charges at the time of its replacement when
the meters are found damaged or out of order.
............All
are, therefore, requested to take note of the above
and replace the damaged or out of order meters of
the L.T. domestic (L&F) consumers immediately,
wherever necessary in such cases, without insisting
on payment of the meter charges at the time of replacement.
