............The use of Kadba Cutter/Thrasher/Cane Crusher is already permitted on the same Agricultural meter only for farmer's own agricultural processing purposes without any additional charge/higher charges provided this is used on the farm by the consumer and not in Urban areas for purposes other than agricultural processing and also it is not run commercially for extending these facilities to other farmers on payment.

............The Board has reviewed this issue and vide B.R. No. 546 dt. 28.4.87 has approved as follows

............"The tariff for supply of electricity for agricultural pumping purposes would includethe use of machinery for operations of kadba cutting, thrashing machines and cane crushing for purposes of making jaggery for self use on the farm of the user including the incidental use for such purposes by the neighbouring farmers. However, the Board reserves the right to charge such consumption underthe commercial usage tariff in cases where in the opinion the C.E. of the Board there is a substantial consumption for this purpose which is in the nature of commercial activity on the part of the user."

............The Board has also directed that the pending cases may be settled in th light of th above mantioned clarification.
