Revised hire charges for Board's materials equipments given on hire basis.
  


............Occasionally equipments are given on hire basis for a short period to the consumers, on request, for which certain hire charges are payable by the consumers. The prevailing hire charges were prescribed, vide Departmental Circular (Commercial) No. 212 dtd. 12.7.1971 in pursuance of B.R.No. 7394 dated 17.6.1971, as follows:
  
1.
Rates as specified at Annexure'X' to the Departmental Circular No. 212 for items/equipments mentioned therein.
  
2.
18% of the cost of the equipments for the items not specified/covered in the AnnexureX
  


............Now, the Board vide its Resolution No.1 027 dtd. 11.5.88 has accorded its approval for the revision of hire charges as follows for Board's materials/equipments given on hire.
  

1.

In respect of all items given on hire, the hire charges should be lived @ 2% per month i.e. @ 24% per annurn based on the stores issue price of an identical material/equipment at the time of giving this particular item on hire.
  

2.

A surcharge on he hire charges prescribed on (1) above should be levied for continued use of material/equipment by the consumers as follows:
  

 
(a)

beyond first six months - 50%
  (b) beyond first 12 months - 100%

The consumer should collect and transport the material/equipment and return it at his risk and cost. He should arrange for transit insurance.
  

4.

The levy of interest shall be 18% per annum instead of at the present rate of 12% per annum in case the hirer does not pay any bill either in full or in part within the period specified by the Board (Clause No.6 of hire agreement form).
  

............The above revision shall come into effect from 1 st July 1988.In respect of items given on hire to a period less than 15 days the rental charges shall be at half the rate prescribed above and for a period more than 15 days but less than a month, full rates as above shall be applicable as already intimated vide Circular (Com. No. 212) dtd. 12.7.71.
  

............The consumers who now have Board's equipments with them on hire basis should be informed suitably through a letter and a copy of such a letter should be attached to the agreement.
