DEPARTMENTAL CIRCULAR (COMMERCIAL) NO. 706

 

 

Subject:           Revised defination of “Connected Load”.

 

 

            The Hon’ble Commission by its Order dated 10/03/2004 has amended the defination of the “Connected Load” & the revised defination is reproduced here below.

 

CONNECTED LOAD:       The Connected Load shall mean sum of the rated capacity of all energy consuming apparatus duly wired & connected to the power supply system, including portable apparatus in the consumer’s premises. Further, Connected Load shall be calculated after allowing a tolerance of 5%. Connected Load shall not include load of spare plug sockets, stand – by or spare energy consuming apparatus installed authorisedly, through Change Over Switch, which cannot be operated simultaneously and load exclusively meant for fire fighting purposes. Equipment under installation and not connected electrically, equipment stored in warehouse / showrooms, either as spare or for sale is not to be considered as Connected Load.

 

            All the concerned Field Officers are requested to take due note of the above said revised defination of “Connected Load”, which has come into force with effect from 01/12/2003 and should ensure that the same is implemented in true spirit.
