1. Definitions :


a) 

"The Board" means Maharashtra State Electricity Board and/or its representative.
 

b) 

"Consumer" means the owner or occupier of the premise which is for the time being connected for supply of electrical energy with the Board's distribution system, and includes intending consumer.
 

c)

"Act" means the Indian Electricity Act, 1910, and the Rules framed there under.

d) "Month" means the calender month unless otherwise specified.

e) "Power Factor" means:
i) in a single phase circuit, the ratio of the Watts to Volt-Amperes-,

ii) in a three phase circuit, the ratio of the total Watts to the total equivalent Voltamperes.

f) 

"Installation" means the whole of electric wires, fittings, motors and appratus erected and wired by or on behalf of the consumer on one and the same set of premises.

g)

 "Bulk Supply" means the supply given to :

 

i) a licensee for purpose of local distibution in his area of supply.

ii) to industrial consumers for industrial, and non-industrial purposes including the residential    premises of his working people, if they live in a defined colony within the factory premises.

h)

* "Connected Load" means the sum of the rated capacities of all the energy consuming devices duly wired up and connected to the power supply system on the consumer's premises, including stand-by devices, if any.

i)

"Maximum Demand" means the average kW/kVA delivered at the point of supply to the consumer during the 30 minutes period (or any shorter period as may be decided by the Board) of maximum use during the month.

j)

i)

"Low Tension Consumer" means all such consumers who obtain supply from the Board at 400/440 Volts or below.

ii)

"Low Tension" means pressure at 400/440 Volts DC/AC and below at 50 cycles per second.

k)
i)

"High Tension Consumers" means all consumers who obtain Three-phase supply at higher pressure than 400/440 Volts A. C. at 50 cycles per second.

ii)

" High Tension" means all voltages higher than 400/440 Volts.

I) "Chief Engineer" means the Chief Engineer of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board and includes his duly authorised representative.
