Payment of bills :

     The rate of interest for other categories of consumers (Low Tension as well as High Tension) shall be 18% per annum.

Further, the Board has directed that the interest the computed considering the year of 360 days and the interest should be collected and included in the subsequent bill of the consumer so as to ensure charging to exact interest due from the consumer.

d)

If under the terms of any agreement executed by the consumer with the Board or as per any arrangement mutually agreed to, a matter is subject to arbitration, no payment shall be withheld by the consumer on account of any dispute proposed or decided to be referred to arbiration and full payment shall be made by the consumer to the Board, if necessary under protest, before the matter can be referred to arbitration.

"Any payment made by the consumer shall be first adjusted against the arrears, if any, in the bill. The consumer shall not be liable to pay delayed payment charges if the consumer pays the amount of arrears together with the current bill in the period specified in the bill for such payment. If the consumer is served with a printed notice for disconnection under section 24 of the Indian Electricity Act 1910 in the bill or separate notice alongwith the bill, the consumer shall be allowed to make payment of arrears within the period specified in such notice and upon such payment, the supply shall not be disconnected and the consumer shall pay the balance amount of current bill within the time specified in the said bill. In such event, no delayed payment charges shall be charged to the consumer on amount of bill. Provides that if the competent authority allows the consumer to make payment of arrears in installments and if the consumer makes payment of amount equal to or more than the amount of current bill within the due date specified on the said bill, no delayed payment charges shall be levied on the amount of said current bill though the amount of said current bill shall be adjusted against the arrears".

A consumer must present his bill at the time of payment without which payment will not be accepted, if the consumer is unable to do so or if he has lost the bill, a duplicate bill will be supplied to him within 3 days of his application in writing to that eff ect, on payable to 10 paise and no consumer shall be entitled to plead for any concession on account of any delays by such loss or delay in supply of duplicate bills by the local office of the Board.

g)

If a consumer, having arrears to his account and having been served with a notice mentioned above wishes to pay only the arrears within seven days and the balance of the bill i. e. the current month's bill within the prescribed period of payment the first payment will be accepted as part payment.

h)

A consumer who is unable to attend the local office for payment of his bills may send the same by cheque of a local bank if the bil Rs. 50/- or more or by money order, at his cost provided however than in cases where cheque of local banks are not possible for any reason the payment may be made in the manner as may be approved by the Board's officer incharge of the concerned billing centre. The Board will bear the bank collection charges for a cheque of Rs. 50/- or more. However, for immediate adjustment of the amount against his bill the consumer shall furnish full details of his bill number or connection number, the montth or months for which the payment is made, and his name, town or village and premises for which the bill pertains to, should be clearly and legibly stated while forwarding the cheque or the money order. The date of receipt of the cheque or money order in the Board's local office shall be reckoned as the date of payment and penalty for the late payment shall be determined with reference to that date. In the event of the consumer tailing to furnish the detailed information as above while forwarding a cheque or money order he shall render himself liable to the charged for penalty for late payment until the he clarifies the same, In case where a cheque is dishonoured for any reason, the officer- in-charge of the concenmed billing centre shall have the right to ask the concerned consumer to make payments in such a manner as the said officer deems appropriate, without prejudice to other rights under these conditions.
