Payment of bills :


i).

Consumers normally residing out of station and desirous of depositing an amount with the Board for monthly adjustment of thpir bills may do so after fitting their intention in writing and the amount they desired to deposit. The minimum amount to be deposited should not be less than Rs. 251- or the estimated bill for a period of 12 months, which ever is higher. The Board will accept such amounts as a matter of affording convenience to the consumers but does not accept any respondibility arising out of non-communication of the balance at the credit of the consumer etc. and will not enter into correspondece on the subject with the consumers except as provided here under. On payment of the deposit amount, a receipt will be passed for the amount as deposit against payment of future energy bills. The monthly statement showing the credit balance at the end of tile month will be sent to the party by post to the address desired by him. When the balance of the deposit amount with the local office reduces to approximately Rs. 10/- the consumer should pay immediately an adequate amount to bring up the total deposit to not less than the original deposit. If the consumer fails to reimbruse the deposit amount within reasonable time, the facility allowed to him will be liable to be withdrawn and he will be treated in the same manner as other resident consumers.

j).

Unless otherwise agreed to the Board shall tender bills to the consumer monthly and payment, which must be made in cash at the local office of the Board, shall be due on demand.

Bills will normally be sent by post or by hand delivery, but the Board takes no responsiblity for loss in transit. The consumer shall notify the local off ice of Board if no bill is received within 20 days from the date of reading. Otherwise it will be deemed that the bills have reached the consumer in due time.

"The consumers availing power supply on High Tension on or after !st February 1998, shall have an option to pay the energy bills either through Irrevocable and Revolving Letter of Credit of a scheduled Bank or in cash/DD/Cheque."

Initially the consumer shall furnish L.C. equivalent to 1.25 times the estimated monthly energy bill before release of power supply and in subsequent months shall enhance, if necessary the L. C. on the first working day of each subsequent quarter for an amount equivalent to 1.25 times the amount of the last quarter's average monthly bill. The quarter shall mean the three calender months period ending by June, September, December and March.

"A consumer who may opt for payment of energy bills through the Letter of Credit shall however be exempted from payment of security deposit, stipulated under Condition No.22."
