| 4. |
Service lines :
|
| a) |
Upon
receipt of an application, an Engineer of the Board will inspect
the premises and fix the point of entry of the service
line and the position of the service cut-outs from the
and meters in consulation with the consumer and/or his licened
Electrical Contractor, prior notice of which will be
sent to the consumer. The position of the supply service, main
cut-out, or circuit breakers and the meter shall be so fixed
as to permit easy cycles per access to the employees
of the Board at any time.
The Board will in no case fix its apperatus, meters or any
of its property in a place which entails entry by its employees
into purda or religious quarters.

| b) |
Having agreed on the position of the service as above, the
Board
will,
| i) |
in
the case of L. T. supplies, submit to the applicant
a bill for the cost of laying the service line on a
firm quotation basis, not subject to any adjustment,
in accordance with the shcedule of service line charges
in force time to time which amount shall be payable
in advance in full before any work of laying the service
could be taken up; and

| ii) |
in the case of H. T. supplies, the provision of condition
7 (i) hereunder shall be applicable.

| c) |
For purpose of supply except for agricultural pumping, the
Board would provide overhead service lines with a tree allowance
of 30 metres from the point of supply which in the opinion
of the Board is technically suitable for such purpose. Any
length in excess of 30 metres as above shall be paid for by
the applicant.

| d) |
In
areas where distribution system is underground or where underground
services are prescribed by the Board, a tree allowance upto
30 metres beyond the consumer's premises is admissible.
In areas where the distribution system is overhead but for
any other reasons underground service lines are required to
be laid, no free allowance would be admissible.

| e)
|
Other
conditions being equal, service lines shall as far as possible
be laid by the Board in the order of the dates of receipt
of advance payment for service line charges.

| f) |
The
service line, notwithstanding that full cost or a portion
of the cost has been paid for by the consumer, shall be and
remain the property of the Board, by whom it is to be maintained.

| *g) |
| i) |
For
L.T. Consumers : The service line, once laid for
L.T. connection shall be transferred or shifted from
one premises to another it consumer so desires, provided
the entire actual expenditure in shifting the service
lines, including cost of additional materials, if any,
plus supervision charges at 15% on labour and material,
is borne by the consumer and such shifting is technically
feasible. When the service line is so shifted, the agreement
existing before shifting the line will continue to remain
in force at the new premises.

| ii) |
For
H.T. Consumers : The service line once laid shall
not be transferred or shifted from one premises to another.
However, in case where the shifting of a service line
is necessitated by the demolition of buildings by or
under the orders of Municipalities, Local Boards or
other authorities or for reasons beyond the control
of the consumer, such shiftingg will be considered by
the Board provided the entire actual expenditure in
shifting the service line including the cost of additional
materials, if any, plus the supervision charges at 15%
on labour and materials is borne by the consumer and
such shifting is technically feasible. When the service
line is so shifted, the agreement existing before shifting
the line will continue to remain in force at the new
premises.
