PUBLIC NOTICE

MSEB PROPOSAL FOR ELECTRICITY

Tariff Revision for 2003-04 (Case No. 2 of 2003)

The Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) has sought the approval of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission for revising the electricity tariff for its consumers for 2003-04.

  1. Copies of the Proposal document will be available with the Chief Engineer (Tariff Regulatory Cell), Maharashtra State Electricity Board, `Prakashgad’, Bandra (East), Mumbai 400 051, and with all the Executive Engineers in charge of the Operation & Maintenance Divisions and Urban Divisions of the MSEB from 5th August 2003. A set of the Proposal documents (Volume I, II, & III) can be obtained on payment of Rs.200/- and will also be available on the MSEB website (www.msebindia.com) in downloadable format.  Interested parties may also peruse the proposal and take notes during office hours, upto 3.9.2003 by making a plain paper application to any of the above authorities.
  2. Suggestions/objections, if any, on MSEB’s proposal, together with supporting material, may be filed in the form of affidavits before the Secretary, Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission, Centre No.1, 13th floor, World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai 400 005, so as to reach him, on or before 3.9.2003   (upto 17.00 hrs.), along with  proof of service on the Chairman, Maharashtra State Electricity Board.  The form of affidavit for filing objections can be obtained from the office of the Commission, the offices of the MSEB mentioned above, and from the Commission’s website, and is contained in the MERC (Conduct of Business) Regulations, 1999.
  3. The objections shall be filed in English or in Marathi in six copies, and should carry the full name, postal address with pin-code number and email address, if any, and should be supported by an affidavit or otherwise notarized.  It should be indicated whether the objection is being filed on behalf of any organization or category of consumers.  It should also be mentioned if the objector wants to be heard in person by the Commission, in which case opportunity would be given at the public hearings scheduled as below and for which no separate notice would be given.
  4. MSEB will have the opportunity to reply to the party’s suggestion / objection by 18.9.2003.  The concerned party can submit a rejoinder to MSEB by 3.10.2003.  In both cases, six copies should be endorsed to the Commission.
  5. Public hearings on MSEB’s proposal and the suggestions/objections received will be held as follows:
