INVITATION FOR BID
1.0. Maharashtra State Transmission Company Ltd, Mumbai ,hereinafter referred as the Owner invites sealed bids from the eligible bidders for design ,engineering ,manufacturing , testing and supply of Water Mist / Foam Gun fire fighting equipments for EHV Substations at Load Despatch Centres in Maharashtra.
2.0. Scope of work : Design , engineering ,manufacturing , testing and delivery at site the 20 nos. Water Mist / Foam Gun fire fighting equipments for EHV Substations and Load Despatch Centres in Maharashtra for enhancing the degree of fire protection. The detailed scope & terms and conditions have been described in the bid documents.
3.0. Qualifying Requirements of Bidders.
a) The Bidder should have proven experience of not less than 5 years in design, manufacture, supply and testing at work for equipment offered. The equipment offered by bidder should be in the successful operation at least for two years as on the date of submission of tender.
b) The Bidder not meeting the requirements at (a) above can also participate provided
they have a valid ongoing, collaboration with a manufacturer who has at least ten years
experience in the design, manufacture and testing of the equipment of the type offered,
which have been in satisfactory service for a period of at least seven years. In such an
event the bidder shall furnish alongwith his bid documentary evidence for the same and
undertaking from bidder and collaborator accepting joint and several liability for all
obligation under the contract.
c) The Bidder should have a minimum turn over of 60% of the value of the material offered
in any one financial year during the previous three years.
d) The Bidder should furnish all the relevant documentary evidence to establish the
fulfillment of the above requirements.
4.0 The bid documents can be obtained from the office of the Chief Engineer ( Tr.Pl ) ,4th Floor , Prakashganga, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra ( East ) Mumbai , 400051.from 14.00 to 16.00 hrs on all working days between the days mentioned above on payment of the specified amount either in cash or demand draft payable to Maharashtra State Transmission Company Ltd. Mumbai.-400051, drawn on Bank of Maharashtra, Bandra(E) Branch, Mumbai 400051 and furnishing the cash receipt to Chief Engineer ( Tr.Pl ) with a requisition for bid documents giving complete postal address of the Bidder.

5.0 The Bidders shall be required to :
a) Submit Earnest Money Deposit ( EMD ) in the form of Bank guarantee for Rs. 87,000/~ (Rs.Eighty seven thousand only) lakhs as specified in the tender document. The EMD should be enclosed in separate sealed envelope alongwith the tender .Tender not accompanied by requisite EMD in the form as stipulated shall be rejected .
b) Submit a contract performance guarantee for 10 % of the contract price in the event of contract being awarded to him.
c) Keep this offer open for acceptance for at least 6 calender months from the date of bid opening.
6.0 The bidders are required to note the following particulars.
i)Cost of tender document : Rs.2000 / - for each copy ( Non-refundable )
ii)Estimated cost of work : Rs.87.00 lakhs
iii)Earnest Money Deposit : Rs.87,000/-
iv)Date & time for sale of : From 20th July 2005 to 5th Aug 2005
documents : Between 14.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs on each working day.
v)Last date & time for receipt : 16th Aug 2005.upto 14.30 hrs.
