1. This Invitation for Bids follows the
General Procurement of 11 kV outdoor Switchgears
for 33/11 kV S/S. Notice for this
project that appeared in the ADB website, ADB .org.
of dated 26.04.2004
2. Power Finance Corporation has received a
loan from the Asian Development Bank
(ADB) towards
the cost of the State Power Sector Reform Project and it intends to apply part
of the proceeds of the loan to payment under contract for procurement of 11 kV
outdoor Switchgears Set of (1+3) under Renovation & Modernization (R&M)
Scheme.

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd., (MSEDCL)
now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for procurement of 11 kV outdoor
Switchgears Set of (1+3)
under Renovation & Modernization
(R&M) Scheme.

4. International competitive bidding will be
conducted in accordance with ADB’s two stage
bidding procedure and is open to all
eligible bidders from eligible source countries.
5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain
further information from Maharashtra State
Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.
(MSEDCL), and inspect Bidding Documents at the address
given
below from 10.00 hrs. to 16.00 hrs. on any working day.
6. The Bidding
Documents in English language may be purchased by interested Bidders on
the submission of a written application
to the address below and upon payment of a
nonrefundable fees in Indian Rupees
12,000/- or US Dollars 250/- and additional Indian
Rupees
500/- or US Dollars 10/- for delivery of Bid Documents by Post/ Mail/ Courier.
The Bid
Document’s payment is to be made in the form of A/C payee Demand Draft/ Pay
order/
Cash. The Demand Draft and Pay Order must be drawn in the name of
Maharashtra State Electricity
Distribution Co. Ltd. ( MSEDCL) and drawn on any of the Scheduled Bank in Mumbai (India). Money Orders and Cheques
will not be accepted. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
Opening date for purchase of Bid: Sept. 5 th 2005.
Closing date for purchase of Bid:
Nov.7 th 2005.
- The Technical Bid (First Bid) must be delivered to
the address below at or before 13.00 hrs IST on date Nov.7 th 2005. All Technical bids (First
Bid) must be accompanied by a Bid Security –
(a) Lot I
– An amount of Indian Rs.37,36,000/- or US Dollars $
85,000/-.
(b) Lot II
–An amount of Indian Rs.35,64,000/- or US Dollars $ 81,000/-.
Late Bids shall be
rejected. Bids will be opened in presence of the Bidder’s
representative who choose
to attend at the address below at 15.00 hrs. IST on
date Nov.7 th 2005.

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) will
not be responsible for any cost or expenses incurred by the Bidders in
connection with preparation or delivery of Bids.
- In the
comparison of Bids, ADB’s Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in
accordance with the provision stipulated in the Instruction to Bidders.
